Abstract |
TTCN-3 is gaining more and more acceptance as test specification and execution language in different industries. Telecom and non-telecom companies are evaluating and using TTCN-3 as their testing middleware. Success is caused by the applicability in different development phases as well as in different kinds of testing. TTCN-3 itself has no limitation on how to be integrated into test processes or high-level test descriptions but in practice this has to be addressed from a tooling perspective, as it strongly relates to methods and tools which are applied on methodology and process level. The T2 Test Framework / concept represents the middle layer between test process frameworks (e.g. ISTQB, fundamental test process) and available test tools and systems. T2 means to achieve a higher integration of several tools (testing tools, tools for system administration, application integration, coding, etc.) to support all test phases of the fundamental test process (planning, control, specification, preparation, execution, evaluation and completion). Within the T2 Test Tool Platform, the T2 TML is the test modeling language for automated test runs to specify tests on very high abstractive level. This language supports several test tools, test levels, and test disciplines. Therefore, it represents a general test specification language with its conversion capabilities to proprietary (respectively other) test tool languages. The tutorial will show how these two worlds of T2TML and TTCN-3 can efficiently cooperate in order to build an efficient test automation environment that provides industrial strength and industrial scale test development.
