Abstract |
Today, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) testing is well established in automotive software engineering. Automated testing is seen as a must to assure the quality of electronic control units (ECUs) and ECU networks while the complexity of ECU software is rapidly increasing. To cope with this complexity, the introduction of standardized tools and processes is required. The ETAS product LABCAR-AUTOMATION has been developed as a tool suite for the ECU HiL testing process including test case development, test case management and test case execution. Key features include test design tool- and test bench independence, helping ECU testing teams to protect their investments in test case development and test bench hardware. The first customer of LABCAR-AUTOMATION has chosen the standardized test language TTCN-3 for the test case development. Focus of this presentation is on the management and execution of TTCN-3 test cases with LABCAR-AUTOMATION as well as on TTCN-3 coding specifics for automotive ECU testing.
